Should You Match With Your Guy At Prom?
Joe from Somers, CT: "Guys shouldn't know what matching is. Wearing any color is cool -- If you look ridiculous, at least it'll make a funny story later on!"
Frank from Medfield, MA: "A guy should be able to wear whatever he wants. I'd rather not wear pink or purple, but if my date really wants to match, then I'd accommodate her needs somehow."
Luke from Poconos, PA: "My date wouldn't have gone with me if we weren't wearing the same color! Though we matched completely, I still think a guy has the right to wear whatever color he wants."
Steve from Greenlawn, NY: "A guy should wear any color he wants, but also be ready to compromise if his date wants to match. I didn't match at my prom, but I at least made sure the corsage complemented her dress. I definitely wouldn't wear pink, purple, or orange."
Jason from Pittsfield, MA: "I wore a white tux and she wore a white dress. A guy should be able to wear whatever color (I'd personally rock any color) he wants but be ready to face the consequence that comes along with that!"
As you can see, while some guys aren't phased by their color attire, others may feel uncomfortable wearing a particular hue. That doesn't mean that you have to limit your dress options. Here's a list of colors that make as perfect of a pair as you and your date do:
- You: Pink Him: Silver
- You: Purple Him:Teal
- You: Navy Him: Gold
- You: Blue Him: Lime Green
- You: Salmon Him: Light Grey
Remind your guy that he can have fun with his outfit too with different tie lengths/widths and patterned vests.
